With an initial focus on staircase updating, safety became more apparent for this typical staircase design via baluster placement — they were located too far apart (not safe for the little ones). Changing from wood to decorative steel balusters, posts were upgraded along railing lifted at the top for overall safe access to the stairs from the 2nd floor. Full tread carpeting was selected vs. carpeted stair runners for ease of cleaning and maintenance.
